Selling Sex And Innocence: Did U2 See It Coming?

My first reaction to this pic was, “Hot”! … then I found out this is his son with him and he is protecting his innocence … ??? … Really? Perhaps in their industry he should be extra worried, but to sort of promote the image WITH sexuality at the same time? Some of this is projection, no doubt. I am not a prude, but this seems a non-sequitur (or at least something that should be streaming at a premium rate on a gay site.

They make a point of noting the son is 18. Could they have done this the day prior to his birthday? There is oft a thin line between artistic expression and exploitation and from here to Africa, U2 and Bono have perfected that.

P.S. An odd aside: After re-sizing the image for this blog to 1000X in height while keeping the proportions, the width = 666 (I changed it to 500).

Weirdness.
